Paula Fielder, library coordinator for Dayton ISD, stands with an old oversized abridged dictionary that was used at Woodrow Wilson Junior High after 1962 and a small card catalog that was used at Colbert School prior to the computer automation of libraries. Both items were donated to the Old School Museum in Dayton.

A new exhibit at The Old School Museum features the rice farming industry in Dayton and the surrounding area.  .. Emil Joseph Stoesser arrived in Dayton with his wife Thekla "Tilley" Kopfer in 1907 from De Kalb, Illinois after seeing ads for cheap farm land in Eastgate, just west of Dayton.

Generations of Dayton High School graduates, including numerous city and county officials, were on hand Saturday afternoon, May 2, for the dedication and unveiling of a historical marker, making the building located at 111 West Houston Street in Dayton a recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
